For our residents coming from the Midstate region (see Regional Map link below), Peer Support Services are available to help meet day to day needs of residents as well as helping to ensure a smooth transition back to their home community.

For our residents that come from the NMRE region (see Regional Map link below), Peer support Services following treatment can be coordinated with the resident's primary counselor and the NMSAS Peer Recovery Program prior to discharge.

Established in 1991, Sunrise Centre opened the doors to serve adults with substance use disorders who are unable to afford other private rehabilitation centers. Once a co-ed facility, Sunrise Centre opened the Family Recovery Centre for women to offer a gender-specific focus on treatment.

  • Sunrise Centre can house up to 20 men in residential treatment along with 4 detox beds available.
  • Family Recovery Center houses up to 14 women in residential treatment and 2 detox clients at any given time.  

Located in a Northeastern Lower Michigan, clients are able to enjoy the beauty of the region while meeting the individual needs of their treatment. AA/NA meetings are offered every evening of the week, with a number of multiple-pathways meetings weekly. Recreational activities such as sports, fishing, and gardening are also opportunities clients may participate in. Staff actively support clients throughout their time spent at Sunrise.
